Case Studies

'Clive'

Clive is a Senior Manager for a Train Operating Company. He has a 92 year old father who lives alone, having lost his wife a few years previously. Clive is concerned about his father’s loneliness and decline in health, and thinks it is time for Dad to get professional care. As is often the case, Clive does not know how to go about this, or even where to begin. He spends a lot of his time distracted, and worrying over what care is available, and crucially, how this will be paid for. Thankfully Clive rang the RBF and spoke to Mel who listened to his concerns, talked him through the options and explained how care is funded. RBF then sent him some clear and concise information and guidance on how to choose a good care home.

No matter how well your employer cares for you there are always areas that they cannot support staff with – and that’s why the RBF are here.

'Mr & Mrs P'

Mr and Mrs P and their family were enjoying some precious quality time together on their holiday abroad when tragically Mrs P suddenly passed away. She was only in her mid-fifties. They were forced to make a painful journey home with an empty seat beside them, where days ago she was sat looking forward to the trip.

On return they faced the heart rending task of arranging her funeral, whose costs they couldn’t afford. Mr P turned to the RBF who were there to help.
