Network Rail worker takes on London Marathon for RBF
Congratulations to Barry McLaughlin, a Route Control Manager for Network Rail Scotland, who completed the London Marathon on 2nd October for RBF.
Barry, who has worked in rail for 31 years, completed the marathon in 4 hours 50 minutes and raised a total of £2,000!
Barry said:
“The Railway Benefit Fund is a charity very close to my heart so I jumped at the chance to take on this challenge. I’m running the London Marathon to not only raise money for RBF, but also to raise awareness of the charity’s fantastic work and the vital services they offer to the industry.
He continued: “With many of us currently facing a cost of living crisis, I’m delighted that the money I raise will allow RBF to continue supporting members of our Railway Family who have fallen on hard times.”
