Merseyrail Volunteers hold Cake Day
On Tuesday 22nd June, the fundraising team at RBF joined RBF Friends Ronnie and Gaynor for a ‘Cake Day’ at Merseyrail. Since lockdown, Gaynor has been baking cakes every week and sharing them with her colleagues at Merseyrail. The staff loved her cakes so much that Gaynor decided to sell them to raise money for the RBF.
We joined Gaynor on Tuesday to help her sell her famous cakes at several locations. We visited Rail House, Liverpool Central, and Southport and Ormskirk stations to sell her delicious treats. There was also a raffle to win an entire cake baked by Gaynor.
The day was a great success, and we managed to raise a total of £300, as well as speak to many Merseyrail employees about the RBF.
