The East Midlands 125 Farewell
On Thursday 13th May the Railway Benefit Fund were invited on The East Midlands 125 Farewell tour in partnership with East Midlands Railway and the Branch Line Society. Tickets sold for the tour and money from the onboard raffle have been donated to RBF, Railway Children and 125 Group.
Operated by EMR using Mark Three HST coaching stock, this special train featured two celebrity EMR Class 43 power cars, 43102 and 43274. The tour celebrated the life of the high-speed train on the Midland Mainline, and their sterling work to revolutionise services since October 1982.
The journey started at St Pancras International, then to Bedford and Kettering before taking the diversionary route via Corby and Manton to Leicester.
The total amount raised for RBF was £3,300! Thanks to EMR and the Branch Line Society for a fantastic day out.
