Presenting a Heart of Gold Award to Johnstone Station

On Tuesday 21st February we visited Johnstone Station to present their Heart of Gold Award, along with award sponsors Amaro. The team, consisting of Susan Hall, Janice Povah and Claire Murray, won the award due to their incredible commitment to supporting their community and fundraising for local charities.

The staff at Johnstone Station are at the centre of their community. When walking into the booking office, you’re greeted with charitable donations for various causes, thank you letters from customers and the community, and a warm and welcoming environment.

The station supports a local social care charity, and every Christmas staff and customers provide care boxes for vulnerable people in the community. The team also supports Women’s Aid through their ‘Gift for Mum’ project, donating Christmas gifts for children to give to their mums on Christmas morning. During the pandemic, a team of volunteers at Johnstone arranged the safe collection and delivery of toiletries and food and drink supplies for staff and patients at a number of hospitals across the West of Scotland.
