Freightliner Class 90 90041 is Officially Named in Honour of Pete Waterman OBE

Railway Benefit Fund’s president, Pete Waterman OBE was celebrated for his exceptional contributions to the railway industry at a special ceremony held in Crewe. The naming was a collaborative effort by Railway Benefit Fund, Freightliner, and Avanti West Coast , where Pete was awarded the naming with a presentation from Tim Shoveller, CEO Freightliner Group.

Freightliner Class 90 90041 was officially named in honour of Peter Waterman OBE, a fitting tribute to a man who has been instrumental in raising nearly £2 million for Railway Benefit Fund, a charity that supports railway workers and their families.

Railway Benefit Fund expressed immense pride in working alongside Waterman, a true railway devotee who has consistently championed the industry and its workforce. His tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have made a significant impact on the lives of countless railway people across the UK.

The locomotive naming ceremony served as a testament to Pete Waterman’s enduring legacy and his invaluable contributions to the railway industry. As a passionate advocate for the railways, he has always been willing to lend his support and expertise to various initiatives.
