Railway Family Week 2022
We are delighted to announce that we have officially raised our £50,000 target for Railway Family Week! Thank you to everyone who supported us during the week- your fundraising and donations ensure that we can continue to support railway people and their families through times of hardship. Take a look below at a few highlights from the week.
Auction of Experiences
Our popular Auction of Experiences was back for the second year running with over 40 money-can’t-buy rail experiences up for grabs. Prizes included cab and helicopter rides in Scotland, a day at the BTP Dog School, drive a Routemaster bus, walk the Forth Bridge or spend the day with Network Rail on their New Measurement Train or Observation Saloon on Caroline. The Auction closed on 5th May and over £26,000 was raised!
Fundraising Challenges
A team from Arriva Rail London completed a 16 mile walk from London Euston to Watford Junction, calling in at every station on the way. This amazing challenge took the team around 8 hours to complete, with colleagues joining them for different legs of the journey. Overall the team raised an incredible £820.
Staff from Merseyrail hosted a Railway Family Week bake sale, organised by RBF Ambassador Ronnie Hardman. Staff sold cakes at several locations including Liverpool Lime Street, Rail House and Liverpool Central, raising over £100.
The Network Rail Route Services team completed a virtual Walk and Talk challenge during Railway Family Week. Over the week, colleagues from the team clocked up a total of 6,000 km and raised over £600 in the process!
Hornby Prize Draw
Our thanks to Hornby who kindly donated seven items which we raffled in our daily prize draw. The daily draw raised over £300!
Thank you to everyone who got involved this Railway Family Week and helped us to reach our £50,000 target!
