Shildon Railway Institute Tea Dance

Date: 10th May, 2025

Location: Shildon Railway Institute

Timings: 1-4pm

Shildon Railway Institute invites you for a grand celebration, uniting historical tradition with modern festivity, as it hosts a Railway Bicentenary Tea Dance on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, in the Main Hall, kindly supported by Railpen. This event will commemorate 200 years of railway history while reviving a beloved local tradition that dates to the very beginnings of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.

This bicentenary event will blend the elegance of the past with the vibrancy of the present. A lively “little” big band from Leeds will provide the perfect soundtrack for an afternoon of dancing, reminiscing, and community spirit, in collaboration with the Shildon Modern Sequence Dance Club.

Guests can expect a delightful spread of tea, coffee, cakes, and sandwiches, alongside the opportunity to showcase their finest attire. It’s a chance to step back in time, celebrate Shildon’s rich railway heritage, and enjoy an afternoon of delightful entertainment.

This is free event; ticket entry is required. Email support@railwaybenefitfund.org.uk to book your tickets.
